The Westerly Hospital is a 125-bed hospital that provides Washington (RI) and New London (CT) County residents a wide array of medical, surgical, laboratory and rehabilitative services using state-of-the-art technology in an intimate, community hospital setting.

The Hospital's History
Opened in 1925 with funding from community doctors, ministers, business leaders and nearly every resident, The Westerly Hospital is built upon a tradition of close community relationships. That tradition continues with the opening of our new Emergency Department and Medical and Surgical Care Units, both with private in-patient rooms. Over 150 physicians and over 20 Allied Health Professionals are on staff with new specialities added in response to community need. In addition, the Hospital is a network participant in The Yale New Haven Health Managed Care Network.
The Future of the Hospital
The future of The Westerly Hospital will bring continued growth with a cardiac catheterization lab and expanded diagnostic services. New technologies and procedures are constantly being added, and we continue to develop partnerships with other health providers that will benefit the Hospital and the community. We look forward to the new directions we take as an institution, while maintaining our history as a community health resource.
The Westerly Hospital is licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Health and fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. The Westerly Hospital also holds the following accreditations:
